If you want Gmail to automatically forward incoming emails to your parser inbox, you can do this using Gmail’s built-in forwarding and filtering features.
This is useful when you want specific emails, like invoices or attachments, to be processed automatically without manual forwarding.
Before You Start
Gmail requires you to verify any forwarding address before emails can be sent to it. This is a one-time setup step.
- A confirmation email will be sent to the destination address
- You must confirm it before forwarding becomes active
Step 1: Add a Forwarding Address in Gmail
- Open Gmail on a desktop browser
- Click the gear icon → See all settings
- Go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
- Click Add a forwarding address
- Enter the email address you want to forward to
- Click Next → Proceed → OK
Gmail will now send a verification email to that address.
Step 2: Verify the Forwarding Address
There are two ways the confirmation email/link can be located. Mailparser will send you to your account email address the confirmation URL in an email, or alternatively the email will arrive in the Mailparser inbox and can be clicked directly from there.
Once verified, the forwarding address becomes available for use.
Step 3: Enable Automatic Forwarding for all emails
- Go back to Settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP
- Select Forward a copy of incoming mail to
- Choose your forwarding address
- Decide what happens to the original email (recommended: keep a copy in Gmail)
- Click Save Changes
At this point, Gmail will forward all new incoming emails (except spam) to the selected address
Step 4: Forward Only Specific Emails
If you only want to forward certain emails (for example, ones with attachments or from a specific sender), you can create a filter:
- In Gmail, click the search bar’s filter icon
- Define your criteria (sender, subject, keywords, etc.)
- Click Create filter
- Select Forward it to and choose your forwarding address
- Save the filter
Filters allow you to route only relevant emails instead of forwarding everything.
Important Limitations
- Only new incoming emails are forwarded automatically
- You can only set one global forwarding address, but filters can forward to multiple destinations
Summary
To automatically forward emails from Gmail:
- Add and verify a forwarding address
- Enable forwarding in settings
- (Optional) Use filters to control which emails are sent
This setup ensures emails are routed automatically and reliably, without manual intervention.
