You can extract data from file attachments sent to your Mailparser inbox by following these steps.
-
Send an Email with an Attachment
Forward your file to your Mailparser inbox. Mailparser will detect the attachment and make it available for parsing. -
Create a Parsing Rule
For each data field you want to extract from the attachment, create a new parsing rule. -
Set the Data Source to “Attachment”
In the rule editor, set Data Source to Attachment
then choose the correct File Content Type:-
Text Content for plain text files.
-
Table Cells for spreadsheets or PDFs containing tables.
- Meta Data - for the file name or file URL
This ensures Mailparser interprets your file correctly and prepares the data for extraction.
-
-
Preview the Extracted Data
A preview of the attached file’s content will appear. Use this to verify your data is being extracted correctly. -
Apply Filters to Isolate Your Data
Apply one or more text filters to refine the parsing and isolate the specific data fields you need. For help
Once configured, your parsing rules will work just like they do for email body content, allowing seamless data extraction from attachments.
